Cool off this summer with the fabulous sounds of THE FOUR KING COUSINS when they bring their unique vocal stylings back to the
Catalina Jazz Club in the heart of Hollywood, CA on Thu, August 11th at 8:30pm for a special 50
th
Anniversary summer concert
event.
They entertained a generation throughout the 60s and 70s as members of the family of musical performers known as THE KING
FAMILY but in the summer of 1966, when they branched out on their own on NBC’s Kraft Summer Music Hall, THE FOUR KING
COUSINS established themselves as acclaimed recording artists and frequent performers on television appearing on virtually every
musical variety and talk shows of the day including, “The Hollywood Palace”, and “The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson.” They
were regular guest-star performers on “The Jonathan Winters Show,” headlined the King Family’s second ABC-TV variety series,
while also starring in 17 acclaimed King Family specials which became an annual holiday TV institution. Their concert appearances
and their artistry inspired audiences around the world with engagements at the Hollywood Bowl, the Fairmont Hotel’s prestigious
Venetian Room in Dallas and New Orleans, The Playboy Resort in Lake Geneva, The Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas as well as
international tours in Canada, Tahiti, France, and Japan. In reviewing some of their early stage shows, the Las Vegas Sun said “You
have to catch The Four King Cousins…they can sing,” the Columbus Citizen Journal heralded their performance as “hugely
entertaining…The ‘Cousins’ virtually explode with excitement…an express train of entertainment,” while the Orlando Sentinel called
their show “powerful,” and noted, “the King Cousins, four of the liveliest, loveliest and most entertaining young women, harmonize
beautifully.”
The group, consisting of actress and singer TINA COLE (“My Three Sons”, “Hawaiian Eye”, “Palm Springs Weekend”) and her sister
CATHY COLE GREEN along with their cousins CANDY CONKLING BRAND and CAROLYN THOMAS CAMERON, will showcase
their unmistakable 4-part harmony and vocal dynamics in a special memory-filled 50
th
Anniversary musical blast celebrating the songs
from their remarkable career on television, nightclubs and concert stages all over the world.. Included will be fun new interpretations
of sunshine pop classics like “More Today Than Yesterday”, “I Couldn’t Live Without Your Love,” “God Only Knows,” and standards
like “The Way We Were,” “A Day in the Life of a Fool,” “You Made Me Love You,” plus many more. With Musical Direction by Troy
Dexter, Chazz Frichtel (Bass), Bob Emmett (Synth) and Nick Vincent (Drums). Proudly presented by Polly O. Entertainment.
“One of the best vocal harmony groups I have ever heard” - Will Freidwald, Wall Street Journal
